Sepsis is an infectious disease that can be life- threatening. If sepsis is suspected blood culture examinations are done. Along the way from the patient to the laboratory time can be lost, because blood cultures are forgotten somewhere. Tracking is needed. Blood cultures are examined for bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites in the laboratory.
